My 8 month old puppy suddenly became very ill on a Wednesday afternoon. Couldn’t get in with my regular vet or any in surrounding towns ( rural area). I was given the # of Highland Lakes Vet an hour away. They were so nice & waited for us to arrive as a new patient. He immediately saw the distress she was in. Blood work was off the charts & X-ray showed a foreign body. She was so low on blood he didn’t think she would survive the night. After blood transfusions & meds he was able to get her stable enough for surgery on the 3rd day &removed the penny. The poisoning was so severe it took several more days & another blood transfusion to finally stabilize & come home. She is truly a little miracle dog & we owe it all to Dr Jung, his staff & the donor blood we received!
